Our athlete mentorship is a holistic program for long-term athlete & sports performance from 8yrs through to elite athletes.

We use science-based strength & conditioning methods to rehabilitate and prevent injuries, develop explosive strength, power & speed and build the engine required to improve sport performance. Cornerstone is a school for human performance, so we start with education on how to be an elite human with great health, and then how to improve athletic performance.

All our staff here have been athletes and have either a degree in Exercise & Sports Science or High Level S&C qualifications. Supporting athletes at all levels through the different stages of their career, preparing them for their future whether it be helping them turn their sporting dreams into reality, or just playing at the highest level possible is our highest priority.

How the Program Works.

Regardless of whether you’re 8yrs old or an elite athlete, we get to know and understand all of our clients so we can build a picture of you and how we can help. We get to know you and understand your needs and aspirations. A personal approach results in a more personal outcome.

Our Athlete Programs ALWAYS begin with Screening and Performance Testing. By creating an athlete profile, we gain an insight into areas that need the most attention and where we can make the most difference.

During your testing session, your performance will be measured across a few different standards:

+ Mobility and Flexibility
+ Skill, Coordination & Balance
+ Strength
+ Power
+ Speed
+ Fitness

We have a set of targets for all our athletes to work towards, and at the end of every twelve weeks we retest and assess your progress. From this your coach will work with you to ensure you continue moving in the direction you want.

After assessing your age (both training age and actual age), your development, and your testing results, we assign you a program or group that suits you. Our programs are designed to flow so that you progress from one to the next.

Our Foundation program is for those new to training. This program is to help develop the strong foundations for capable human as well as athlete and is designed around body weight training. You’ll learn to use your body efficiently and effectively as well as how to jump and land with precision and confidence.

Our Junior program is for those who have reached ‘Foundation’ level on the Junior Targets. Under supervision, they are able to start mastering the core elements around movements, health and mindset which define great athletes and great humans. We increase elements such as loads, complexity of movement, volume, or intensity. This is where we really start building the base to create strong, mobile and powerful athletes.

Our High-Performance program is where we help our athletes build the body and attributes they need to be phenomenal movers and perform at their best. We prepare you for competition and give you access to programs and information to maximise performance. This is for both amateur and elite athletes. We only require you to want to do the work.

All programs are designed specifically for each training group. Once you enter the High-Performance group, you have an individualised program and a personal coach working with you to develop the habits and training you require to perform at your best.

By developing a complete athlete profile, your program can be completely customised to suit your goals and your life. Programs are delivered via an app so sessions can be completed during the allocated times, or at a time or place that suits you.

Athlete Training Packages

Foundation.

Who is it for: For 8-12yrs or for those new to training. Sessions run – Monday to Friday @ 3:45pm

This program is to help develop strong foundations for capable humans and athletes. These attributes are often difficult to measure but easily seen (awkwardness, running gate, coordination etc). It is about introducing the athlete to movement, skills, knowledge and experiences which they are not familiar with.

It’s designed around bodyweight training and play to improve body awareness, coordination, balance, strength, flexibility, correct movement patterns and reduce risks associated with sitting for long periods or injuries from sports. The goal is to develop each individual to be free and use their body how they wish. 

This phase may last anywhere from 6 weeks to 12 months. Once they are competent enough, they can then move into the Junior Squad sessions.

Junior.

Who is it for: Any child 12-15yrs to help develop the strong foundations for capable humans and athletes.

We follow a long-term athlete development model which starts by building good movement quality, skill and knowledge. This is a development process, not a 6-week challenge. This program is a safe environment for kids to start gym training and for those wanting to enhance athletic performance.  

Sessions run – Monday to Friday @ 4:30pm

We guide them carefully on technique, quality and knowledge to support health first, and then performance.

They are required to complete all movements and show the body awareness, body control, strength, skill and understanding of themselves to meet our internal standards before progressing.

Under supervision, they are then able to start increasing elements such as loads, complexity of movement, volume, or intensity.

This is where we really start building the base to create strong, mobile and powerful athletes. This is where body shapes can start changing and confidence growing.

This phase can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years depending on their frequency and progress.

We have limited places and will often have 2 coaches on to ensure every athlete is getting as much coaching as possible.

We understand everyone has different needs, and parents do a lot of running around to try and get their kids to different activities. We are here to support them in whatever way possible. If it's 1-day per week, that's a lot better than zero.

For this reason, we have 3 different options for our Junior Athletes.

High Performance.

Who is it for: +16yrs or those who have done the work to meet the Junior Targets

Sessions run – Monday to Thursday @ 5:30pm

Our High-Performance program is an innovative and comprehensive program for both local amateur and elite sports performance. We help our athletes build the body and attributes they need to be phenomenal movers and perform at their best.

We fill the gaps in your armour to rehabilitate and prevent injuries, develop explosive strength & power and build the fitness required to bring it all together using an individualised program. This is delivered by highly qualified coaches in small groups to ensure an optimal training experience.

Program fees are based on your individual service requirements. We work with coaches, teams and clubs to deliver services to suit any budget, and may include in-kind sponsorship arrangements.
